I was born in the Netherlands but lived in Italy, Canada and the United States for parts of my life.
People, communication and body language, have always intrigued me. For me, a portrait is so much more than a pretty picture of oneself. In my personal work, I like to operate on the edge of traditional portraiture to make the viewer question their interpretation and create a deceptive identity. In my portrait work, I try to discover my clients, make them confident, reactive, pull an expression and create a beautiful image that reflects themselves.
I completed a one-year certificate in Photography at Concordia University in Montreal, followed by full time program in Fine Art Photography at the International Center of Photograph in New York. I also hold a Bachelor in Communication Management from the HU, Utrecht, the Netherlands.
I am based in New York and continue to work on personal projects as well as commissioned work.
